Thinking of taking a family vacation this year? Now’s the time to start planning! Kids can sometimes be a restless bunch. We know what you’re thinking… “Who, me?!” Yeah, you know it. 😉 This is why the key to having a fun-filled trip is to find places where the entertainment abounds, that way you’ll never get bored. Your parents will be thankful for that, we promise! So where should you all jet off to this year? We may be a little biased (more on that later 😊), but there’s a reason why New York City, Orlando, FL, and Anaheim, CA should be at the top of your travel list.
New York City
Frank Sinatra sang about the Big Apple because the city that never sleeps is truly the center of the universe. There’s so much to do in NYC that we can’t even fit it all in here but hey, let’s give it a try! On your way to the Statue of Liberty, you can hunt down your ancestors at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. Dig even further into the past at the American Museum of Natural History (one word: dinosaurs!). Explore the bright lights of Times Square or attend a Broadway show. Hop on an elevator to the very top of the Empire State Building to take in the breathtaking views. Take a stroll in Central Park. Check out the animals at the Bronx Zoo. Take a subway ride to Coney Island for an old-time carnival vibe. One thing’s for sure: New York is full of fun wherever you go—not to mention the best pizza and bagels around! And if you happen to do some shopping while you’re in town, make sure to stop by the beautiful Grand Central Station—a must-see destination in its own right—and while you’re there, take a peek inside our very own LittleMissMatched store!
If it’s roller coasters and resorts you’re after, then Orlando, FL is a no-brainer. Warm sunshine and adventure await in the Magical Kingdom of the mouse… we think you know which one we mean! From taking in the world-class theme parks of Walt Disney World to playing with dolphins at SeaWorld, there’s just no chance you’ll be bored. Don’t forget Universal Studios and the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Need we say more? And, all the fun isn’t just for you. Mom and Dad will love the opportunity to enjoy some golf and plenty of shopping, too! And speaking of shopping, don’t miss the chance to visit our Disney Springs store in Orlando as well.
Some say the West Coast is the best coast. And while we wouldn’t dare pick favorites, we do know that a trip to Anaheim, CA would be an absolute blast! From the proximity to gorgeous beaches (think Laguna) to the thrilling rides of Disneyland, who wouldn’t love to spend some time in sunny Southern California? If you happen to visit during baseball season, you could have some hotdogs while catching a game at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. There’s also Yorba Regional Park, where you can enjoy vast greenery as well as lakes and streams, ride a bike or go for a run, have a picnic or barbeque, and even rent a paddleboat. And while you’re visiting Mickey and friends, you’ll want to stop by the Downtown Disney district and stock up on some LittleMissMatched goodies before you head home.
As you can see, there are plenty of awesome things to do in these three kid-friendly travel destinations. Which one do you want your family to visit this year? Tell us in the comments!
